We practise what we teach

A site about protecting your information should collect as little of yours as it can. Here is exactly what happens when you visit, including the advertising we plan to show.

01 · What we collect

Visit counts, and the basics any web server sees

Osintian has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comments and no newsletter. You never give us your name or email.

We count visits with Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google, to learn which pages are read. It records things like the page, the referring site, the browser and an approximate location derived from the IP address. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs to run and protect the site.

Fonts are served from our own domain, so your browser does not contact a font service when you read a page.

02 · Advertising

Google ads, with the cookies that come with them

Osintian uses Google AdSense to show advertising once Google has approved the site. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site or other sites. You can read how Google uses information from sites like this one at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com or through aboutads.info/choices. Where the law requires it, visitors from the EU and the UK are asked for consent before ad cookies are set. Ads are paid placements, not recommendations, and we do not choose which advertisers appear.

03 · What we do not do

No selling and no profiles

  • We do not sell visitor data or give it to data brokers.
  • We do not build profiles of visitors or try to identify them. Any ad profiling is done by Google under its own policy, and you can switch it off as described above.
04 · Your rights

Blocking and opting out

You can block analytics and ads with any content blocker or your browser's privacy settings; the site works the same without them. Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the CCPA or GDPR may give you further rights over data held about you.
